The cans benefit from a broad-base which makes them hard to tip over accidentally and are produced from a high-density polyethylene. This gives them leak protection, chemical resistance, and reduced chemical leaching. A large opening makes filling easier in order to reduce spills, and a spring-loaded latch and handle will keep the cap open when you need it to. 

The cap also has the ability to self-ventilate which prevents dangerous pressure build up. With a current-carrying carbon insert and stainless steel flame arrester, they reduce the chance of ignition by grounding the can and dissipating heat. Produced by Justrite, they have also received FM approval.
