Ensure fire suppression even when you're not present in the building by installing ceiling-mounted automatic extinguishers. These extinguishers are an excellent solution for effectively covering large areas and are commonly used in storage areas, server rooms, and engine bays. Their quick detection and extinguishing capabilities help prevent fires from escalating and spreading.
Activated automatically when the room reaches a specific temperature, these extinguishers require no human interaction, making them ideal for environments that are rarely manned or for after-hours protection. The automatic ceiling extinguishers are available in a choice of powder or clean agent options, allowing you to select the firefighting solution that best suits your specific scenario.
Where Should I Install My Ceiling-Mounted Automatic Extinguisher?
Supplied with a standard bracket, the installation of ceiling-mounted automatic extinguishers requires appropriate fixings based on the structure where they will be mounted, whether it's plasterboard or concrete. It's important to consider the weight of the unit, as ceilings may have limitations in supporting certain automatic extinguisher models. In such cases, we recommend exploring our range of wall-mounted solutions.
For optimal coverage, it is recommended to install the automatic fire extinguisher centrally within the room. This ensures equal protection for all corners and increases the chances of early activation in the event of a fire. However, caution should be exercised to avoid placing the extinguisher directly over equipment that may generate heat during normal operation.
How Do I Choose An Automatic Extinguisher?
Determining the appropriate size of the automatic extinguisher for your ceiling depends on the size of the room you intend to protect. For example, our 10kg automatic extinguisher is suitable for covering an area of up to 28 m2, while our 1kg compact automatic extinguisher is designed for smaller rooms, covering approximately 3 m2. Larger rooms may require multiple automatic extinguishers for adequate coverage.
When it comes to selecting the type of ceiling-mounted automatic extinguisher, powder extinguishers offer a cost-effective solution. They are suitable for Class A (wood, paper, cloth, etc.), Class B (flammable liquids), and Class C (flammable gas) fires. Powder extinguishers can be used safely around live electrical equipment. However, it's important to note that they may impair breathing and vision, which is less of a concern in unoccupied areas. Powder extinguishers may also cause corrosion to sensitive equipment.
Alternatively, our clean gas automatic extinguishers, also known as clean agent automatic extinguishers, are equally suitable for the same types of fires. These extinguishers are residue-free, ensuring no collateral damage and facilitating easier cleanup. They are an ideal choice for protecting sensitive equipment and environments.
