Fire Safety & Exit Signs

Highly visible fire safety and exit signs help guide occupants quickly towards emergency exits and essential fire safety equipment during critical situations. Suitable for workplaces, commercial buildings, warehouses, and public environments, these signs support safe evacuation and improve awareness of emergency procedures. Designed for durability and high visibility, fire safety and exit signs support compliance with safety regulations while helping maintain safe and well organised premises.

Every workplace has to identify escape routes, firefighting equipment, and emergency actions with fire safety signs. The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 places the duty on the responsible person, and the Health and Safety (Safety Signs and Signals) Regulations 1996 and BS EN ISO 7010 set the format and pictogram standards.

Escape Routes, Alarms, and Equipment

Fire exit signs need to be continuous, so an evacuee can follow the trail from any point in the building to the final exit. Fire assembly point signs finish the route outside, so people can be counted. Fire alarm call point signs identify manual call points, and fire action notices set out what to do when the alarm sounds. Fire extinguisher signs mark the location and, where appropriate, the extinguisher type: CO2, foam, powder, water, or wet chemical. The type matters because the wrong extinguisher on the wrong fire can make it worse. Fire hose reel, fire blanket, and dry riser signs work the same way for their equipment.

Deciding Which Fire Safety Signs You Need

The fire safety signs you need will be identified by your fire risk assessment, rather than a template. The assessment will address the specific needs of your building, including viewing distances, lighting conditions, sign positioning, and how your signs will remain visible if normal lighting fails.

For example, photoluminescent fire safety signs stay lit without a power source once charged by ambient light. But in an area with poor natural light, an internally illuminated sign or one lit by emergency lighting is a better fit.

If you're not sure which fire safety signs you need, our team can help. Call them on 0808 175 4375.

Where Should I Install Fire Safety Signs?

Depending on the location and whereabouts of a building, these signs serve as a reminder of where fire exit routes are, including fire extinguisher locations, and fire bridge equipment. In the event of emergencies, these signs allow occupants to confidently navigate towards fire exits, and equip themselves with equipment to help tackle a sudden fire.

Low cost and easy to install, our range of Fire Safety Signs protects your premises from panic and confusion when danger is present, offering complete peace of mind.

What types of fire safety signs are available in this collection?

This range covers signage for several different fire safety functions - from fire exit signs to fire door signage and door-opening instructions. Which one you need depends on the specific piece of equipment or exit feature you're marking.

What do the different colour schemes across this fire safety sign range signify?

Colours follow standard safety coding - green marks safe-condition signage like exits and assembly points, red marks fire equipment and prohibitions like extinguishers and 'No Smoking', and blue marks mandatory actions like 'Fire Door Keep Shut'.
