The ABC powder means it suitable for use on fires including Class A (wood, paper, cloth, etc), Class B (flammable liquids) and Class C (gas – but never put out a gas fire if the gas cannot be turned off). It is also safe to use around live electrical equipment.

Its stainless steel construction stops it from corroding, while an antique brushed copper hand-finish gives the Copper 6kg Powder Extinguisher its contemporary good looks. Due to not being red, it cannot display a Kitemark or BAFE approval, but by using the same components is made to British Standards.

British Standard 5306-8:2012 for the Selection and Positioning of Portable Fire Extinguishers has been updated with an important change.

Please Note that due to the specialist nature of our antique copper fire extinguishers, these are made to order and not available on our standard next working day service. After placing an order, a member of our customer service team will contact you with an estimated delivery date.

British Standard 5306-8:2012 for the Selection and Positioning of Portable Fire Extinguishers

5.4.3 Use of powder extinguishers
The discharge of a powder extinguisher within buildings can cause a sudden reduction of visibility and can also impair breathing, which could temporarily jeopardize escape, rescue or other emergency action. For this reason, powder extinguishers should generally not be specified for use indoors, unless mitigated by a health and safety risk assessment.
