The sturdiness of these cabinets is ensured by their construction with 18-gauge (1-mm) thick welded steel double walls, featuring insulated air space of 38mm for superior fire protection. Additionally, they are powder-coated to prevent any chemical reactivity.

Equipped with a three-point, self-latching door handle, which includes a cylinder lock and keys, the Sure-Grip EX Slimline Safety Cabinets also provide the option to use a padlock for added security. The clever design of the three adjustable galvanized steel shelves directs spills to the back and bottom, channelling them into a leak-proof sump at the bottom.

To ensure optimal storage conditions, these cabinets feature dual, flame-arresting vents, grounding wire connectors, and self-leveling feet. The exterior dimensions of the Flammable Liquid Cabinet measure 1651mm H x 591mm W x 457mm D, with an interior size of 1537mm H x 508mm W x 370mm D and a flammable liquid capacity of 83 litres (or 22 gallons).

The self-closing models utilize a fusible link that melts at 74℃, automatically closing the door during fire conditions. Moreover, these Sure-Grip EX Slimline Safety Cabinets are FM-approved and feature reflective warning labels with the message “FLAMMABLE – KEEP FIRE AWAY,” ensuring visibility under low-light conditions. As a testament to their quality, these cabinets come with a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty.

With three shelves included, each designed to direct spills to the back and bottom into the sump, they are adjustable on 76-mm centres and equipped with welded shelf hangers that interlock with the shelf for maximum stability and loss prevention. Each shelf can support a weight of up to 159kg.

The safety cabinet has undergone rigorous 10-minute fire testing up to 1,300°C, providing ample time for safe evacuation. The internal temperature during fire tests is carefully controlled and kept below the auto-ignition temperature for the vast majority of flammable liquids. Overall, the cabinet either surpasses or meets the UK requirements of DSEAR 2002, COSHH, HSG51, and HSG140. Additionally, these cabinets fit seamlessly alongside double Sure-Grip EX Safety Cabinets of the same depth.
