The aforementioned AVD (Aqueous Vermiculite Dispersion) agent it uses is effective on Lithium-Ion Battery Fires, Class A Fires, and Electrical Fires. It is a natural mineral-based fire extinguishing agent composed of high aspect ratio vermiculite platelets in water, resulting in a tightly controlled formulation designed to push the boundaries of firefighting efficiency while maintaining the necessary certifications for safe and regular use.

Lithium-Ion Battery Fires are a fast-growing and already abundant fire hazard that is the result of recent and current technological advancements. Most portable devices and electric vehicles use these batteries, and so are prone to the deadly and specific kind of fire they are able to produce. Due to the self-sustaining process of thermal runaway, these fires are especially dangerous, and can often reignite hours or even days after seemingly being cooled. This makes it all the more important to have an extinguisher you can trust on hand should a Lithium-Ion Battery Fire occur. 

The P50 is also rated for use on Class A Fires, which is those caused by common combustibles such as wood and fabric, as well as Electrical Fires up 1000 volts, a role which is typically exclusive to CO2 Fire Extinguishers. This extinguisher isn’t sacrificing regulatory compliance for its cutting-edge functionality either, bearing relevant certifications such as BS EN3, UKCA, and the CE Mark.

Note: There is also an associated app for Google and Apple that can be used to log annual maintenance, as well as double pressure gauges on the extinguisher itself for comprehensive calibration.
