It is also integrated with PyroFlow Active granules, which automatically deploy when a thermal event is detected. This non-toxic, mineral-based fire suppressant absorbs large amounts of heat during thermal runaway, helping to contain and suppress the fire.

Unlike standard plastic collection bins, which can contribute to the spread of a fire, the Firechief Vape and Battery Disposal Bin is the only fire-protected Lithium-ion battery disposal bin with an automatic, integrated fire suppression system.

Independent testing demonstrated that the bin successfully contained and suppressed a Lithium-ion battery fire, preventing structural damage to the unit while containing burning projectiles. It also controlled the smoke and gases released during thermal runaway far more effectively than a standard plastic bin.
