To use, unfold the blanket and then carefully place the blanket over the fire by holding the pull tabs. Once applied, the blanket smothers the fire, starving it of oxygen so it eventually burns itself out, preventing the fire from spreading.
As standard, the blanket is supplied in a wipe-clean, soft-pouch case, complete with an eyelet for wall hanging and with easy to follow instructions printed on its exterior. Like all Vigil fire blankets, it has a 5-year warranty and is manufactured from a high-quality coated glass fibre material and is performance and quality tested in accordance with BS EN 1869:2019 by SGS Group, the world's leading testing, inspection and certification company.
The 1.2m x 1.2m fire blanket is suitable for small commercial kitchens such as cafes, as well as domestic kitchens, workshops and workplace kitchens.
Anticipated lifespan of this fire blanket: The FIA recommends replacing fire blankets after 7 years. Always replace after a fire.
Special Note: Beware of cheap, untested fire blankets sold on marketplaces such as Amazon and eBay. They often state "C E Standard: 1869-1997" near the top and "Made in P.R.C." near the bottom. Some of these may burn through or actually catch fire when used.
